ShapeCapture

ShapeCapture provides the tools for 3D Modeling from images, Camera Calibration, 3D Coordinate Measurement, Photogrammetry, Texture Mapping Automatic Target Extraction and Stereo Matching.

ShapeCapture continues to be the leading software package for accurate 3d measurement and modeling. ShapeCapture, is in use in over 29 countries. ShapeCapture offers the best of both worlds accurate measurement, detailed 3d modeling, and interfacing to compatible technologies.

Areas of application where it is currently in use covers Aerospace, defense, industrial process, control and measurement, architecture, archaeology, 3d animation, forensics, support for laser scanning and 3d sonar support.

ShapeMonitor

ShapeMonitor is a turnkey system that allows for measuring objects in real time. The system comprises a high speed computer, frame grabber, and dual digital cameras for data acquisition and a target projector.  The system allows for easy configuration for different camera types such as high speed cameras.

ShapeMonitor allows for measurement of objects whether they are static or dynamic. The system can also be used in harsh environments and poor platform stability where laser systems fail.

The System software is broken down into modules where only one is hardware dependent. The ShapeMonitor program is hardware independent and allows for camera calibration and system registration. The main features is similar to the ShapeCapture program and further information on some of the features is available on this site.

ShapeMonitor allows for measuring thousand of points in a real time environment to a high accuracy. With its optional motorized projection system (point clouds at 50 micron to 1 mm increments) hundreds of thousands of points can be measured at near real time rates.

ShapeMonitor also allows for reading a target template to provide for automated calibration and registration, prior to automated point measurement. Multiple parts or objects can be read in near real time (i.e. assembly line system). Since the cameras are fired simultaneously, objects that are in a dynamic state can be accurately measured. In addition to its capability, the 3d coordinate output from ShapeMonitor can be directly applied to other 3d modeling software.

StarCam Scanner and ShapeCapture Bundle

The StarCam can be used in standalone or coupled with the photogrammetric capabilities of ShapeCapture ™ software for increased accuracy and expanded application support. The StarCam bundle is provided with a calibrated high resolution digital camera with the TexCapture software for precise high res texture mapping of the scanned data.
